You can take the book at whatever pace suits you. There are 40 main meditations following scripture through Lent and a final "coda" entry for Easter Sunday. If you want this to be a daily practice for spiritual focus, there are enough entries that if you begin on Ash Wednesday (2/18), and read one entry daily (6 days a week), you will get to the final reading on Easter Sunday, 4/5.

In order to be roughly "up to date" for our Zoom discussions, you can break the book up in this way:

Section 1, for discussion on 3/5

  • 12 days of reading, through Day 12.

Section 2, for discussion on 3/19

  • 12 days of reading, through Day 24

Section 3, for discussion on 4/2

  • The rest of the book, through the end.
